Sedelon Swing Check Valve with Counterweight

The swing check valve with counterweight is an automatic valve that assists in closing through the action of gravity. It is a special type of check valve composed mainly of the body, cover, disc, counterweight, guide rod, etc.

When the medium flows in the forward direction, the pressure pushes the valve disc to open, and the counterweight rises with the lever mechanism, placing the valve in the fully open position. As the flow rate decreases or reverses, the valve disc starts to close under gravity, with the counterweight providing additional closing force through the lever system to accelerate sealing and prevent water hammer impact.

Once the closing action is complete, the sealing ring tightly fits with the valve seat, achieving zero leakage. The counterweight also helps stabilize the valve, preventing pipeline vibration. Its high weight and inertia make the valve movement smoother, avoiding issues where the valve fails to close tightly due to pipeline vibration.
