Forged steel flange globe valves are the valves whose disc move along the valve seat center-line when closing and opening.

Regarding these kinds of valves , the most obvious advantage is: In the process of opening and closing, due to the friction between the disc in the valve sealing surface is smaller than gate valves, so it is much durable and wear-resisting. The rising height in the process of opening is generally only a quarter of the seat channel’s diameter, so the shape and size are much smaller than gate valves. Typically there is only one sealing surface on the valve body and disc, thus it is easy to maintenance.
