Globe Valve
The bodies of Globe valves can be constructed from various metals, including Forged Steel, Stainless Steel, Alloy, Bronze, Cast Steel, and Carbon Steel Globe valves. Notably, Forged Steel Globe valves that adhere to the API 602 standard are prevalent and are commonly referred to as API 602 Forged Steel Globe valves. Additionally, Sedelon® specializes in producing Stainless Steel Globe valves in accordance with the API 603 standard (API 603 Stainless Steel Globe valves). Depending on the design specifications, Sedelon® also offers DIN Globe valves.
Alternatively, the valve bodies can be crafted from non-metal materials, such as Ceramic Globe valves, which excel in abrasion resistance and hardness. Other Globe valves may utilize specialized materials, like Hastelloy, Special Steel, and Special Alloy Globe valves. For handling highly corrosive media, Duplex Stainless Steel or Super Stainless Steel Globe valves are typically chosen due to their ability to perform effectively in corrosive environments.
Globe valves are known for their simplicity in operation, typically controlled by a hand wheel, hence the term Hand Wheel Globe valves. In scenarios requiring significant starting force, gear-operated Globe valves offer a labor-saving alternative, which are commonly used for larger-sized valves. Certain Sedelon® Globe valves can be customized with actuators for specialized applications, such as Electric Motor, Pneumatic Actuator, and Hydraulic Actuator Globe valves. Electric Motor Globe valves boast durability due to the minimal friction during the opening and closing process and can withstand pressures ranging from mid to high. However, these valves are directional, allowing fluid to flow in only one direction.
Globe valves come in various connection types, each resulting in a distinct type of valve: Flanged, Screwed, Butt Weld, and Socket Weld Globe valves.
Plug Type Globe valves feature a plug-shaped disc, representing a variation of traditional Globe valves. Due to their emission-free nature and rapid on/off functionality, these valves are widely utilized.
High temperature Globe valves can operate effectively at temperatures as high as 700°C. For such extreme conditions, High Nickel Alloy Globe valves are an excellent choice. Low Temperature Globe valves, also known as Cryogenic Globe valves, can function in temperatures down to -110°C and are widely used in industries such as Liquefied Natural Gas and Liquefied Petroleum Gas. Jacket Globe valves help minimize temperature loss of the line fluid. When dealing with high pressures, Sedelon's High Pressure Globe valves are a reliable option. A By-pass Globe valve serves as a pressure relief system to minimize engine wear. Pressure Seal Globe valves automatically adjust the pressure of the sealing ring to accommodate varying internal pressures in the pipeline, making them suitable for high temperature and high pressure environments.
For handling harmful and poisonous fluids, Bellows Sealed Globe valves offer superior sealing performance, making them suitable for applications in sterile process industries like pharmaceuticals.

4A Duplex Stainless Steel for Globe Valve
Due to the lower alloying content, duplex stainless steels can be lower in cost, especially in times of high alloy surcharges. Additionally, it may often be possible to reduce the section thickness of duplex stainless steel, due to its increased yield strength compared to austenitic stainless steel.
